My name is Lena Vinz.

I've been teaching guitar lessons for 20 years, both acoustic, electric, bass guitar for beginners and classical guitar for advanced players. I have a rather large library from which I can select almost any type of music to the student's liking and any song my students wish to play. My repertory includes many varieties such as Spanish music, classical repertoire, Blues, Jazz, Metal, Country, and Rock songs. I teach my students how to read notes, chords, TAB, play and sing, and play solos by pick or fingers.

Twice a year usually around the months of May and December I organize Recitals for parents and family at Brass Bell music store. Every February, my students have a chance to play at the Federation in UWM on “Students Festival.” Students with superior level of playing may qualify to win a trophy or award.

Throughout my 20 years of teaching, I have picked up many gifted and talented students. I have audio and video of my students. I have the option to offer a studio-like setting at Brass Bell Music Store in White Fish Bay. Students in the North Shore or North East side of Milwaukee should contact Brass Bell at # 414-963-1000 and request myself as their teacher. For students who might live further South feel free to contact me to discuss other options.

I attended music school for 5 years until I entered Music College at the age of 19 which I attended for 4 years where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in classical guitar. I received my Masters Degree when I graduated the Pedagogical University in 2002 which I attended for 5 years. I did all of my education in Ukraine as a guitar teacher, performer, and general music teacher. (It is equivalent to an American education).

At the University, I studied on how to be a guitar teacher. I attended classes so I could be the best teacher that I can be. The classes I took helped me to understand what I need to do to excel in my job. I took such classes as Methods of Teaching, Psychology of Children, Individual Repertoire, Pedagogic, and of course musical classes. Classes like these help me work with children and discover their individual way of learning. My main principle is to view every child as a special individual with different capabilities to learn, and my goal is to find and develop the child's skills making sure that the student learns all that he/she could so that the child is successful in the skill of playing the guitar. I teach how to play different types of guitars however I strongly believe that it's best to learn how to play a classical guitar first since it will give them the basis to play other types of guitars and any kind of music in future.
